Terms of Use and Course Registration
Effective July 1, 2026 · Updated August 21, 2026
1. Overview
River City CPR LLC, doing business as River City CPR (“River City CPR,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), provides training in CPR, first aid, ACLS, PALS, EMT skills verification, continuing education, and other emergency medical courses.
These Terms of Use and Course Registration (“Terms”) govern your access to rivercitycpr.com, registration for our courses and services, and communications with us. By using our website or registering for a course or service, you agree to these Terms. If you register another participant, you confirm that you are authorized to provide their information and accept these Terms on their behalf.
2. Eligibility
Our courses are open to individuals who meet the prerequisites outlined in each course description. Certain advanced courses may require current certification, professional licensure, or other qualifications before enrollment.
3. Registration and Payment
Class registrations are generally completed through Hovn, River City CPR’s approved registration platform, or by another method we approve. Information submitted through Hovn is also governed by Hovn’s terms and privacy practices.
Payment is due at the time of registration unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Payments may be processed by Hovn, Stripe, or another disclosed payment processor; River City CPR does not store complete payment-card numbers.
River City CPR may cancel, postpone, or reschedule classes because of low enrollment, instructor availability, facility issues, emergencies, or other circumstances. Available refunds, transfers, or credits are governed by the Refund Policy in effect when you register.
4. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds, cancellations, transfers, rescheduling, late arrivals, and no-shows are governed by the current River City CPR Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The version in effect when you register governs your registration.
5. Attendance
Students are expected to arrive on time and attend the entire course. Depending on the requirements of the certifying organization or regulatory agency, students who arrive late, leave early, or miss required portions of instruction may be required to reschedule or may be ineligible to receive certification.
6. Certification
Successful completion of all required course components, including any required skills evaluations and written examinations, may qualify a student to receive certification from the applicable certifying organization or agency.
Certification is issued only after all applicable course requirements have been successfully completed. River City CPR cannot guarantee certification if course requirements are not met.
7. Code of Conduct
To provide a safe and professional learning environment:
- Students are expected to treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with courtesy and respect.
- Disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behavior may result in removal from class without refund, subject to the River City CPR Refund Policy.
- Students whose conduct or condition presents a safety risk may be denied participation or removed from class.
- Audio or video recording of classes is prohibited unless expressly authorized by River City CPR.
8. Health, Safety, and Accommodations
Many courses include physically demanding hands-on skills practice. If you have a participation limitation or need an accommodation, please contact us before class. You do not need to provide a diagnosis unless information is reasonably necessary to evaluate a requested accommodation or protect safety.
We will consider reasonable accommodations when appropriate; however, certifying organizations or regulatory agencies may require successful completion of specific physical skills.
9. Intellectual Property
All course materials, presentations, handouts, logos, website content, and other materials provided by River City CPR are the property of River City CPR or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, or modified without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.
10. Privacy
Your use of our website and services is also governed by the River City CPR Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information.
11. SMS Messaging Terms
When you provide your mobile number and affirmatively consent to receive text messages from River City CPR, you may receive class reminders and follow-up messages related to our training services. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP. After you send STOP, you may receive a final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
For assistance, reply HELP, email [email protected], or call (916) 932-9402. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Information about how we handle mobile information and SMS consent records is provided in our Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website links to services operated by Hovn, Stripe, certifying organizations, government agencies, and other third parties. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. River City CPR does not control and is not responsible for the availability, security, content, or independent practices of third-party services.
A link does not imply endorsement of every statement, product, or service offered by the linked organization.
13. Website Information and Availability
We work to keep our website accurate and available, but information, schedules, prices, links, and features may change. The website may occasionally be interrupted, delayed, or unavailable.
Website content is provided for general informational and educational purposes. It is not medical advice and does not replace emergency services, professional medical care, or the requirements of a certifying or regulatory organization.
14. Limitation of Liability
River City CPR provides training in accordance with current educational standards and applicable guidelines. Participation in hands-on training involves physical activity and carries inherent risks.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, River City CPR shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in a course or reliance on course materials. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
15. Accessibility
River City CPR is committed to providing accessible website information and training services. If you experience difficulty using the website or need information in another format, contact us at [email protected] or (916) 932-9402. We will make reasonable efforts to address accessibility concerns and accommodation requests.
16. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. To the extent permitted by law, disputes not resolved informally shall be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Sacramento County, California.
17. General Terms
These Terms, together with the policies incorporated by reference and any written terms provided for a particular service, constitute the agreement between you and River City CPR concerning the website and services covered by them.
If a provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. River City CPR may assign these Terms in connection with a reorganization, merger, sale, or transfer of the business or its assets.
18. Changes to These Terms
River City CPR may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated revision date. If a change materially affects an existing registration, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate. Continued use of the website or services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
