EMT Skills Verification (California)

This hands-on session verifies EMT psychomotor skills per California EMSA using the Skills Competency Verification Form (SCVF). You’ll demonstrate core skills with instructor evaluation and sign-off.

• Patient assessment: medical and trauma
• Airway management: OPA/NPA, bag-valve-mask ventilation
• Resuscitation: CPR and AED use
• Oxygen administration: non-rebreather mask and nasal cannula
• Cardiac arrest management: team-based scenario with AED
• Bleeding control & shock management: direct pressure, wound packing, tourniquet application
• Immobilization: spinal motion restriction (supine and seated)
• Splinting: long bone, joint, and traction splint
• Penetrating chest injury management: occlusive dressing application
• Medication administration: epinephrine auto-injector and naloxone (intranasal)
• Childbirth: normal delivery scenario
• Neonatal resuscitation: immediate newborn care and BVM ventilation

All skills are verified per California EMSA Skills Competency Verification Form (SCVF) requirements and are valid for two years. River City CPR is an approved Continuing Education Provider, number 65-0989, for healthcare and EMS professionals.
